A Leader's Heart for Homeless Children - Temporarily Sold Out.

Kalvin has a true understanding of why the Kauzbots Krew is so special. Kalvin was the first robot to be created by Dr. Krakowitz and therefore, the first “robot with a heart”. Kalvin was created by Dr. Krakowitz as he dreamed about building robots, even though those around him laughed at his dreams and said it was a foolish dream. Dr. Krakowitz pursued his dreams and he created Kalvin.

Quickly after being created, Kalvin ran out of the factory and noticed all the causes of the world where help was needed. He made a list. When he realized the list was too big for him to do alone, Kalvin asked Dr. Krakowitz for help.

Dr. Krakowitz went back to the invention table. He created the Kauzbots Krew, each in a different color and made Kalvin the Kauzbots leader. As the leader, Kalvin focuses on one kauze (aka cause) and works with the other Kauzbots robots to find their kauze.

Kalvin recently decided that there was a huge need to help homeless kids. Not only do they need places to stay, food to eat, clothes to wear, but almost most importantly, they need to be able to have dreams as big as they can imagine. For too many kids, they’re dreams are limited by their circumstances. How can a kid believe that they are going to be a Nobel Peace Prize recipient if they don’t even know where they will wake up before trying to make it to school?

Kalvin knows how significant it is to make sure that children have a life to dream about, visions to follow, and without that, they are destined to fail. After all, if Dr. Krakowitz didn’t pursue his dream to create robots with a heart, then Kalvin and the rest of the Kauzbots Krew would not exist.

As Kalvin walked a beautiful little town in upstate New York he thought; “I want to team up with other people who want to help homeless children. Especially those who want to ensure kids never stop dreaming, and their dreams can be realized regardless of their current situation”. As fate would have it, after thinking this, Kalvin then ran into Erik. Erik is an adult who was homeless as a teenager. Erik was lucky enough to have people around him who encouraged him to dream big and has seen many of those dreams come true. Kalvin discovered that Erik had created an organization called Dream Catalyst. Dream Catalyst works passionately to make sure the dreams of homeless children can be realized.

Kalvin, and the people at Dream Catalyst understand how hard it is for kids who are essentially on their own. Not only do they feel they have to struggle to find their way, but many of them feel forgotten, and thrown away. Kalvin’s heart beats for those kids because no one should feel thrown away and unwanted. That is why Kalvin wants to help every homeless child pursue a dream and the means to pursue it. There are many things we can all do to help that are as easy as talking to different kids with love and respect for the dreams that lie inside them, or we can help serve food at a your local food pantry and talk to people about their dreams and goal with encouraging words. We can also share our dreams with others, sharing our dreams encourages others to think about their own dreams. Try to make a new friend everyday and ask them about their dreams while sharing your own. It’s amazing how we can find that we have a lot in common with others by sharing our dreams.
