Toy Robots Plant Trees to Celebrate Earth and Arbor Days

Apr 21, 09

Kauzbots Robots With a CauseTo celebrate both Earth and Arbor Days, Kauzbots will be premiering “Kale Kauzbot,” a plush toy robot benefiting the Arbor Day Foundation in an effort to plant and celebrate trees. On Earth Day, April 22nd, and Arbor Day, April 24th, 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of “Kale” at http://www.kauzbots.com will be donated to The Arbor Day Foundation.

”We’re excited about celebrating two important days in an effort to sustain our environment,” said David Trotter, co-founder of Kauzbots. “We’re honored to work with the Arbor Day Foundation as they continue to be such amazing stewards of our trees and forests.”

Launched in 2009, Kauzbots is a new line of handcrafted plush toy robots designed to inspire kids and adults to make a difference in the world. With 10 different bots being released in 2009, each 18” tall Kauzbot is a ‘robot with a heart’ that is passionate about a particular cause, ranging from AIDS to autism to the protection of the environment.

The sale of Kale, passionate about trees and the environment, will benefit the Arbor Day Foundation and its work to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. With a vision of a world where trees and forests are abundant, healthy, and sustainable, and highly valued by all people, the Arbor Day Foundation and its members planted more than 10 million trees in 2008 alone.

Arbor Day Foundation“The creation of Kale Kauzbot is a wonderful way to share the importance of trees within our environment,” said Tiffany Thompson, corporate partnerships manager at the Arbor Day Foundation. “We are pleased to team up with Kauzbots to plant trees and have a positive impact on the world.”

100% of the net proceeds from the sale of “Kale” at http://www.kauzbots.com on Earth Day, April 22nd, and Arbor Day, April 24th, will be donated directly to the Arbor Day Foundation.

Mother’s Day Kauzbots Auction to Benefit Hearts of Gold, Inc.

To celebrate Mother’s Day 2009, Kauzbots will be auctioning off 25 celebrity-autographed plush toy robots with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting Hearts of Gold, Inc. (http://www.heartsofgold.org), a New York based non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the lives of mothers and their children living in New York shelters.

Each “Kalvin Kauzbot,” an 18” tall, handcrafted robot that has been autographed by a celebrity, will be available through a special eBay auction beginning on Friday, March 24th and concluding on May 4th. A preview of each Kauzbot, including a photo of the celebrity and the actual autographed robot, is available at http://www.kauzbots.com. With each auction ending on May 4th, Kauzbots will be mailed to auction winners in time for Mother’s Day on May 10th, 2009.

Kauzbots available to be purchased have been autographed by celebrities such as Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe on “Friends”), Alison Sweeney (Host of “The Biggest Loser”), Tyler James Williams (Chris Rock on “Everybody Hates Chris”), Alexander Ludwig (Seth on “Race to Witch Mountain”), Angus Jones (Jake on “Two and a Half Men”), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob on “SpongeBob SquarePants”), Chelsea Makela (Tracy Transfat in “Dance Flick”) and others.

”As we share the passion of Kauzbots to make a tangible impact in the world, so many celebrities are getting excited about the concept,” said David Trotter, co-founder of Kauzbots. “Not only do they want one, but they’re literally willing to put their name on the product for a great cause like Hearts of Gold.”

The “Kalvin” Kauzbot is currently associated with Hearts of Gold’s cause.

100% of the net proceeds from the sale of each celebrity-autographed Kalvin Kauzbot will benefit Hearts of Gold and its work to improve the lives of mothers and children at three Manhattan shelters. Hearts of Gold also helps mothers and their children as they transition from these shelters to permanent housing through its Alumni Support Program.

“With Mother’s Day around the corner, we’re passionate about raising awareness of the needs of women and children who are without homes,” stated Deborah Koenigsberger, founder and executive director of Hearts of Gold. “In a season when many gifts are being purchased for mothers, this Mother’s Day Kauzbots auction is a wonderful way to tangibly help moms get the assistance they need.”

About HEARTS OF GOLD
Hearts of Gold (HoG) was founded in 1996 by Deborah Koenigsberger, a former model and a fashion industry stylist who owns a successful women’s clothing boutique, Noir et Blanc… Bis, established in 1989 in Manhattan’s Chelsea district. Her caring nature was touched by the struggles of homeless women in her neighborhood, so in 1996 she founded HoG, a not-for-profit organization that exists to improve the lives of New York City’s homeless mothers and their children. HoG has raised more than $1.6 million in support of city shelters including Icahn House East, LLC; Nazareth Housing; and the former Alexander Abraham Residence. In 2008, HoG adopted a new shelter, Semiperm HDFC. The organization has attracted the support of such luminaries as Emme Aronson, Bobbi Brown, Kirsten Dunst, Edie Falco, Marcia Gay Harden, Ivana, Hoda Kotb, Laura Linney, Soledad O’Brien, Susan Sarandon, Tamara Tunie, Vanessa L. Williams, and Stevie Wonder. HoG is a 501©(3) organization. For more information on how you can help, visit http://www.heartsofgold.org.

While we were at the International Toy Fair in New York in February, Cookie Magazine asked for all 10 KAUZBOTS to be photographed for their May issue. Subscribers received their copies today, and the issue hits newsstands next week.

Congratulations to Deborah Koenigsberger, founder and executive director of Hearts of Gold – who Kalvin currently benefits, for being given a “Smart Cookie Award” in the same issue. Check out the article here.

We’re also excited to be featured in the June issue of Parents magazine. Check it out!
